In 2013, ClearWay Inc. decided to build its first parking sensor from scratch. It is a ground sensor that is more accurate and stable, and helps businesses and cities know exactly when and where a parking space is free or taken. The new solution works perfectly in tough outdoor areas or where network signals are weak.
Initially, ClearWay Inc. dabbled in various sensor technologies and explored different verticals, like metering. However, parking emerged as the most intriguing domain for them. After collaborating with other parking sensor providers for a couple of years, the team decided to design its first in-house parking sensor. The result? They rolled out 200 gateways and connected 27,000 sensors, and they are not stopping anytime soon. ClearWay Inc. is now preparing to add another 12,000 sensors over the next year, hoping to maintain a 40% annual growth.
